Kindergarten-2nd Grade:

In 1st and 2nd Grade we will be learning how to navigate in Microsoft Excel by creating Alphabet Rainbows in an Excel Spreadsheet.

Kindergarten will use the program Sammy's Science House this month. 1st Grade will continue to use the program Jumpstart First Grade this month and begin using the Mighty Math Zoo Zillions program. 2nd Grade will continue to use the program Jumpstart Second Grade. 

3rd Grade-4th Grade:

3rd & 4th Grade will explore graphing in Excel by:

• Watching a video about how Excel works and then creating a class datasheet with information about all members of the class.
• Counting and graphing M&Ms in a pre-defined template

4th Grade will also explore fixed formulas in Excel by creating a 12x12 times table by entering a single formula. Additionally, 4th Grade will use Weather.com to look up the weather in Winnetka, CA and record and graph the weather for a week in a pre-defined worksheet.

3rd Grade will also use the program Jumpstart 3rd Grade this month and 4th Grade will play math games in the Math Arcade on Funbrain.

5th Grade-8th Grade:

5th & 6th Grade will learn about the basics of Excel by:

• Watching videos on how Excel works
• Creating a class datasheet with information about all members of the class.
• In addition, 6th grade will record and create a line graph of their typing speed for the month and will recreate their class schedules in Excel.

7th & 8th Grade will learn and/or review the basics of Excel using:

• Excel Basics - Lesson 1
• Excel Basics - Lesson 2
• Excel Basics - Lesson 3
• Excel Basics - Lesson 4
• Excel Basics - Review

7th & 8th Grade will also record and create a line graph of their typing speed for the month.

5th - 8th Grade will further explore Excel including functions and charts with our M&M Project:

• Candy Counting
• Candy Graphing

8th Grade will also work with Mail Merge in Microsoft Word using a database of addresses built in Excel.
