Animations

What should I do? How do I do it?
Add animation to one or more objects on one or more of your slides.  Animation makes things move on your slides. For example, you can make text appear one letter at a time or make a picture fly into the slide or have a list of something scroll up the screen or down the screen.

Too many animations can be overwhelming but having some can add pizzazz to your slideshow. It can look great to have your titles animated or to have the list of sources scroll like movie credits.

View the video tutorial linked below for a how-to on adding animations and then add a few to your presentation. Do not animate everything on every slide!

How to Add Animations

NOTE: There may be a commercial before this video actually starts.

Viewed the video and still confused? Follow this step-by-step guide:

  1. Go to Slide Show > Custom Animation
  2. In the Custom Animation task pane, click on Add Effect and then on Entrance.
  3. Choose an animation effect - click on More Effects to see all of the animation options available.
  4. You can change the speed of the animation using the Speed Dropdown for the animation.
  5. You probably also want to change the Start option from On Click to With Previous. This will automatically run your animation when the slide displays. If you don't change this then you will have to click to make your animation run.
