Kindergarten-2nd Grade:
In Kindergarten through 2nd Grade we will be
learning:
- How the Internet works by making a small model of
a network with one child representing the World Wide Web and the
other children representing computers.
- Basic Internet Safety using videos and materials
from Clicky's Web World at NetSmartzKids
- Internet Stranger Danger using Faux
Paw's Fun Zone
Kindergarten will also use the program Millie's
Math House this month. 1st Grade will also
use the program Jumpstart First Grade this month. 2nd
Grade will also use the program Jumpstart Second Grade. For
Thanksgiving, Kindergarten through 2nd Grade will create turkeys using
the KidPix program.
3rd Grade-6th Grade:
3rd-6th Grade will expand their knowledge of the
Internet and Cyber Safety:
- We will be building a more complex model of
how the Internet works based on class level.
- We will be viewing videos and using materials
from NetSmartzRules! at NetSmartzKids
- ask your child who Follow You Fiona is!
- We will end the month with the Internet
Safety Wrap-Up
3rd Grade - 6th Grade will also participate in
our Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt!
7th Grade-8th Grade:
7th and 8th Grades will view the information
presented at The
Journey Inside: The Internet and build a more complex model of how
the Internet works including information on how data travels on the
Internet.
We will learn about Cyber Safety, with an emphasis
on using Social Networking Sites and Cyberbulling using materials from
NetSmartz.org
and NSTeens
7th and 8th Grades will also participate in our Thanksgiving
Scavenger Hunt!
