November: Internet Safety Wrap-Up
It's time to test what we remember about Internet Safety
and then play some fun Internet Safety Games!
To get started:
-
Leave this page open and open
Microsoft Word. This will open up a new blank document. This is what
you want so go to step 2!
-
Type the title Internet Safety
Wrap-Up and your name at the top of the document. You
can use any font you want or do the title in Word Art - it's up to
you.
-
Save your document with a name you'll
remember.
-
Answer the 12 questions below in your Word document.
Visit the sites listed if you need help with the answer. You don't need to type
the question and you don't need to use full sentences in your
answers. You do need to number your answers! Do you remember how to automatically number in a Word
document? If you don't know
how to do this raise your hand and ask!
-
Once you've answered all 12 questions, save your
document and then you can go to the games section and play any of
the games listed.
The sites you visit will open up in a new window (or
tab if you have a newer browser). Just close the window (or tab) to
return to this page and continue with the next question. Complete all of
the questions before you go on to the games section!
What Do We Remember:
- What information should you NEVER give out online?
(If you need help in remembering, go to http://www.netsmartzkids.org/uyn/uyn.htm
and watch the video)
- How long should a password be? And who, other than
you, can know what your passwords are?
(Don’t know? Can’t remember? Watch the Password Rap video at http://www.netsmartzkids.org/uyn/passwordrap.htm)
- What should you do if you get an email from someone
that you don’t know?
(You should remember this but if not it’s in the same video that
we watched to answer #1)
- What should you do if someone that you’ve met
online wants to meet you in real life?
(This one is really important – Watch the video at http://www.netsmartzkids.org/uyn/boylovedim.htm
to review what you should do!)
- What should you do before you open any attachment
you get in email, even if it’s from someone you know, or download
any file from the Internet?
(If you’re not sure, watch the video at http://www.netsmartzkids.org/uyn/virusrap.htm)
- What does UYN mean?
The next 5 questions ask you to identify with WizziWig
would do this. If you can’t remember which WizziWig is which, go to http://www.netsmartzkids.org/activities/nsrules/index.htm
and watch Meet The WizziWigs.
- Which WizziWig would send email to everyone on the Internet
if they could?
- Which WizziWig tries to get you to meet them in
the real world?
- This WizziWig types in all CAPS or uses mean and
rude language. Who is it?
- This WizziWig needs to get a life. They spend all
of their time on the Internet. Which WizziWig is this?
- This WizziWig is always watching you and wants to
sell you things or sell your personal information to other people.
Who is this?
- Who should you ask or tell if you see anything online that makes
you uncomfortable or scared?
