The Artist In Me
Leonardo Da Vinci
(1452-1519)
Realist
Leonardo Da Vinci was born in Italy in a town called Vinci in
1452. Leonardo doesn't have a last name like we do. Da Vinci means
"from Vinci" where Leonardo was born. Leonardo lived during the Renaissance and is often called a
true "Renaissance Man" which is an expression to indicate that
someone is very good at many things in many different areas of life.
Da Vinci was not only a great artist but he was also a great
sculptor, an inventor and engineer, an architect, a
mathematician and a musician. Da Vinci came up with ideas beyond his time including: the helicopter,
calculators and solar power. Da Vinici did not paint a lot of paintings
but took a lot of time on each painting. Da Vinci died on May 15, 1619 at the age
of 67 in Amboise, France.
Leonardo Da Vinci was famous in his own time and remains famous today. Da
Vinci's works include a very famous painting of The
Last Supper.
Create Your Own Art in the Style of
Da Vinci's Mona Lisa
Create your art in the style of the Mona
Lisa. Once again you don't have to create something that looks just
like the Mona Lisa - capture the feeling of the painting, use similar
colors to capture the mood, etc. If you would like to start with an outline of the Mona Lisa, ask me how to do
that. If you take this option you will be filling in the Mona Lisa's
features, coloring the Mona Lisa outline and creating a background for
your portrait.
You may use PhotoFiltre, Paint or KidPix to create your art work.
Save your art as Your Name - daVinci. Then, go to to your Powerpoint Art
Gallery and add your Da Vinci image and add a small image for Da Vinci
to the title page.
If you are using KidPix, ask me
how to save your work so it can be used in your PowerPoint
presentation. If you are using PhotoFiltre, here's how to save your
work:
- Go to File > Save As
- Change Save As Type to JPEG
- Change File Name to: Your Name - Miro
- Click Save
- Move the slider to Best Quality and click OK.
