Keyboarding is an essential skill that you need to learn well for
your success in school and most likely beyond your school years. We will be devoting 10-15 minutes at the
beginning of every class working on our keyboarding. If this is your
        first day here:
          Download the Typing
Spread Sheet and save in your folder! We will be using this
spread sheet in every class.Go in to Mavis Beacon and set up a new account - you can
either delete your old account and set it up again with the same
name or set up a 2nd account. Make sure to test your level when you
go to the lessons area on step 4 below. Since we haven't been typing
consistently, we need to re-establish where we're at with our typing
skills. Every day when you get to class:
          Go to FreeTypingGame.netTake a 2-minute timed test using Lesson 26, 27, 28, 29
or 30 unless another lesson is specified as you come in to
class.Record the Date of the class, Words Per Minute &
Calculated Speed on your Typing Spread Sheet.Go in to Mavis Beacon and work on lessons for 10 minutes. At the end of the 10 minutes, record your Daily Technique Score
(0-10) on your Typing Spread Sheet based on the following (add
up your points for each category):

always correct or almost always correct, 2 points if your

                For example:

                  | Technique | Points |
                  | Posture: I kept both
feet flat on the ground with my back straight and my elbows
naturally at my side. The feet of my chair remained on the
                    ground at all times. | 3 |
                  | Hand Positioning
& Fingering: I usually kept my fingers anchored on the
home row and used the correct fingers for typing a lot of
the time but not always. | 2 |
                  | Accuracy: My Words
per Minute & Calculated Speed where the same on my timed
test which means my accuracy was at 100%. NOTE: If your Words Per Minute &
Calculated Speed are not the same, your Accuracy Percentage
can be calculated as: Calculated Speed *100 / Words Per
                    Minute. | 2 |
                  | Eyes on Screen: I
did look at my hands more than I should have. | 0 |
                  | Speed: My calculated
                    speed was 26 WPM. | 1 |
