Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year to both our returning families and new families. We hope that you will all join us for our Back to School Nights coming up on:

• Thursday, September 15th for Kindergarten through 5th Grade families. Please join us in the Church at 7pm.
• Thursday, September 22nd for Middle School families. Please start the evening at 7pm in your child’s homeroom class.

We also have our Welcome Back Picnic coming up on Friday, September 23rd from 6pm-8pm. We hope that you and your family will be able to attend.

Our Fall Fundraiser is kicking off on Thursday, September 14th at 2:15pm in the Church. Please be sure to order or renew your magazine subscriptions and get some early Christmas shopping in from the QSP Gift Catalog. Proceeds from this fundraiser go towards all of the extras that the PFA provides.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Warrick family for the loss of Monica Warrick. Mrs. Warrick was a beloved teacher at St. Martin’s for 13 years, from 1985 until 1998, and remained a friend and supporter of the school through the years. She began her career at St. Martin’s as a 2nd/3rd grade teacher and then moved into 1st grade for many years.

A celebration of Monica’s life will be held at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church at 5700 Rudnick Ave. in Woodland Hills on Friday, August 19 at 2pm.

We ask that you keep the Warrick family in your prayers.

Today in the annual 8th Grade vs. Teacher Volleyball game, the teachers were victorious taking 2 sets out of 3. It was a great match on a beautiful day!
