Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving reminds us to take the time to give thanks for all that we have. We at St. Martin’s are truly grateful for all of our school families, our faculty and staff, our School Board, and St. Martin’s parishioners. Traditionally, just before Thanksgiving at St. Martin’s, our students break “bread” (or share other breakfast items) with students from another class in a Friendship Breakfast. We hope that you and those closest to you gather together and enjoy your traditions this holiday weekend.

2012 Friendship Breakfast

In addition to being thankful for all of the members of the St. Martin’s community, we are also very thankful for those in the larger community who have supported our school through the years. Rev. Jeff Stephens has been a true champion and ardent supporter of St. Martin’s for many years and we recently learned that he is moving out of our area. We wish him well in his new endeavors and hope that he will come back to visit us again. We were happy to have the chance to say good-bye to Rev. Jeff.

What’s New & Upcoming at St. Martin’s

Please join us for our Veterans’ Day Chapel on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 8:30am and that you will invite any veterans that you know so that we may honor them at this special chapel. St. Martin’s students will recite poems and sing for our veterans and Ernie Napper, 22 year Marine Corps. (Retired) will be our guest speaker. The veterans will be honored at a special flag retreat ceremony after the chapel service.

We are looking for volunteers for all of these events. If you can help, please call the office or email us at stmartinsschool@aol.com

Did you know that our Cookie Dough Sale has started? Make sure that you get your orders in by November 26th so that the cookie dough can be delivered on December 11th!

We all have lots of shopping to do this time of year whether it’s shopping for our Thanksgiving feast or buying gifts for the holiday season. You should take advantage of St. Martin’s Scrip Program for your shopping needs. Scrip comes in the form of gift cards and certificates which can be used at many stores where you already shop including grocery stores, gas stations, department stores, etc. You buy a gift card at face value for that card and St. Martin’s will earn a percentage of the purchase. Buy gift cards now for your Thanksgiving shopping by 3pm on Tuesday, November 13th or purchase gift cards for Christmas giving by Tuesday, December 4th. Our scrip program is open to your friends and family members too. Just download our Scrip Order Form, fill it out and return it to the school office by the deadline dates!

For personal and security reasons, eScrip stores will no longer supply schools with amounts spent by each cardholder, therefore we are no longer able to make credits to tuition accounts. We hope that you will continue to register your cards on behalf of the school as we will still receive proceeds from your purchases. Please also remember to bring in Box Tops for Education and Fresh and Easy receipts to the school office.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
