Smile, It’s Picture Day!

2014 Picture Day

Welcome to the 2014-2015 School Year!

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our first day get-together and at our special chapel to say goodbye to Fr. Chris and welcome Fr. Gabri.

We are very pleased to announce that David Kitch (Mr. David) will be returning to St. Martin’s as School Chaplain and we welcome Ms. Tina Nguyen as our new Kindergarten teacher.  We are looking forward to an exciting year!

We had a good summer here at the school and hope you did too.  Our camp was a great success thanks to Mrs. Sue Emslie, Mrs. Debbie Dunlap, Mrs. Jehieli Moutinho, Mrs. Karin Marlisa, Mrs. Karen Angustain and of course our wonderful campers!

We hope you will join us for our Back to School Nights on Thursday, September 11, starting at 7pm in the Church, for Kindergarten through 5th Grade and Thursday, September 18, starting at 7pm in Room 24, for Middle School. Please also plan to join us for our Welcome Back picnic on Friday, September 19 from 6-8pm. Bring friends and family to enjoy the fun. This is a great opportunity to meet your old friends and our new families.

School photo day for Preschool-8th Grade will be Wednesday, September 17 and all students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade should wear school uniforms.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Ellen Bobertz will be our PFA President again this year. Mrs. Bobertz did a wonderful job last year and we are extremely grateful to her for her dedication and commitment to our school. Volunteers hold a special place in our hearts here at St. Martin’s and we look forward to having your cheerful smiles and endless enthusiasm brighten our days throughout the year. We hope everyone will find some way to volunteer and ask you to complete the Volunteer Opportunities Form as soon as possible.

Our Fall fundraiser kicks off on Friday, September 12. Please help your children get orders from friends, family members, your co-workers, etc. Online ordering is both convenient and popular and will be linked from our website. Please order or renew magazine subscriptions and shop early for Christmas from the Great American catalog. Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards the wonderful PFA programs that make school so much fun for your children.

Emergency Forms and Handbook Acknowledgment Forms must be returned by Monday, September 8. Mrs. Vicky Sedgwick has also sent home the Responsible Use Policy. This should be reviewed, signed, and returned as soon as possible so that students can fully benefit from their classes in the Computer Lab. Our thanks to everyone who has already returned their forms. If you need additional copies of any of these forms, you can find them on our Documents & Forms page.

We hope you will join us at 10am in the Church on Sunday, September 7th for Fr. Gabri’s first Sunday at St. Martin’sPlease remember that St. Martin’s welcomes families of all faiths.
